As a consultant, Tim has supported universities to develop and implement institutional and portfolio strategies, redesign professional and academic structures, identify target markets for student recruitment, implement systems, and build internal change capability.
Tim drives strategic transformation and data-informed improvements in higher education. He leads complex projects, excelling in stakeholder engagement and analysis across UK and Australasian universities.

  • Leading UniForum collections and analysis | Supporting Keele and other universities across the UK to make effective use of UniForum to support decision-making and transformation.
  • Developing Nous Data Insights student survey | Leading the pilot of Nous Data Insights' new student survey focused on student services.
  • Developing university strategy and implementation plan | Working with a leading NZ university to develop a strategy focused on delivering widespread institutional change to turn around declining performance.
  • Restructuring health sciences faculty | Working with a leading NZ university to reduce the structural complexity of their largest faculty and ensure it is responsive to the needs of First Nations students, staff and communities.
  • Facilitated structured problem solving training | Developed a tailored training package for Griffith University’s Transformation Office, including a unique case study, and facilitated workshops.
  • Developed university strategy | Developed an international strategy for a large New Zealand university to regain market share following COVID disruptions, undertaking stakeholder engagement to ensure buy-in and analysing the international student market.
  • Informed campus academic strategy | Conducted market analysis and internal and external stakeholder consultation for a large regional university with multiple campuses to present options for course offerings and campus infrastructure across the region.
  • Advised on systemic improvement | Reviewed casual staff administration for a Group of 8 university, combining a deep understanding of the enterprise agreement with extensive stakeholder engagement across professional and academic organisational units and data analysis to offer recommendations to reduce casual pay errors.

Outside of Nous Data Insights

Before joining Nous and Nous Data Insights, Tim worked in a variety of professional services roles at the University of Queensland, including in project management, student administration, event management and student recruitment. 

Tim holds a Bachelor of Music (Honours in Cello Performance), a Bachelor of Arts (International Relations and Spanish), and a Diploma of Languages (French).

In his spare time...

Tim is an avid surfer and spends most of his weekends and holidays in the ocean. He enjoys playing cello and singing, and loves to cook.
